NSFTID Students Made the Best Out of Lockdown and Created Amazing Sustainable Designs.

A sustainable way of living and an eco-friendly approach in our lifestyle is much more needed now than ever!
The right balance between the nature and human existence can build a circular economy and lead us to a peaceful living.
Keeping this in mind, NSFTID proposed a project to our students during the lockdown. ‘Best out of waste’, a practice for a much better future, urging students to exploit their creative minds and create something not just beautiful, but also useful products in day to day life.
The challenge was enthusiastically taken up by the students and the results have been magnificent.
From stylish overcoats out of old t shirts to door mats out of old pants and a showpiece bunny out of unused shocks. The students did really give their time and energy into creating sustainable products.
A study at World Resource Institute has showed us that 1 truck of old garbage clothes are burnt or land filled per second. It takes about 80 years for cloths to break down in a landfill. This study is enough to make us really think about the choices we make.
The initiate by NSFTID was to create awareness in the minds of the students and make them think about making a conscious choice when it comes to household products. The sustainable practices will be passed out to their future generation making the world a much better place.
When asked the Principal, NSFTID, Dr. Sandhya Ravi, says “The initiative has been a success. Students have really turned their ideas to beautiful assets that can be used and cherished. We not only want our students to be more aware of sustainable practices but also urge them to spread awareness to their family, friends and everyone around. Our students are future leaders and nothing would be happier than they adopting eco-friendly approaches.”
