Inauguration of Nitte Susheela Alva Memorial Sports Complex

‘Sports activities must be inseparable part of education system as sports teach the human bondage and universal brotherhood’, opined Prof. N.R. Shetty, chancellor, Central University of Karanataka. He was speaking while inaugurating the ‘Nitte Susheela Alva Memorial Sports Complex’ at the premises of Nitte School of Fashion Technology and Interior Design, Yelahanka. Further he added that sports should be encouraged by all Educational Institutions as nation needs talented sportsmen also for the overall growth.
This new sports complex is named after Nitte Susheela Alva, who herself was a sports person and wife of Yesteryears’ Cricket legend Sri Chandrahasa Alva. The sports complex is built in International standards and consists of a swimming pool, Junior Football ground, senior football ground, Basketball court, Volley ball Court, Badminton court, yoga center and cricket practice nets. New sports complex inaugurated today is well equipped so as to host state level sport events at North Bangaluru. Dr. H.C. Nagaraj, Principal, Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Shri Rohit Punja, Administrator Nitte Education Trust and Smt. Shakunthala Shetty, daughter of Late. Susheela Alva were present on the occasion.
